As college hits, I’ve noticed that many of my friends are getting married! A ring is bought, they send out invitations, and a white dress is purchased. Many girls dream about the glorious day and are anxiously waiting for some prince charming to come sweep her off her feet. I’ve also been caught up in this day dreaming by watching Say Yes To The Dress! A t.v. show which brides go to a wedding dress boutique and search for their big, expensive, white wedding dress! But lets be honest, most girls screw up a couple times before they find mister right. We have the free choice to fall deeply in love, lose innocence, and get hurt. The time comes when you do find Mr. Right and the wedding bells start to ring! In the past, the dress represented a pure young girl who would be given to her husband as a virgin. People today have different standards, morals and views about sex before marriage and what our culture finds acceptable has changed drastically. Has the white dress lost its meaning? Jessica Sarah Parker was known for famously wearing a black wedding dress for her big day! The white wedding dress has withstood the ages, but what about the message behind it?
