Leared to smoke it but desperately attached.

There was a lot of talk this past week of Becker's article on using and stating that one has to learn to be a pot smoker. I do agree that these are the type of things that must be learned. A person that has never done marijuana or other drugs does not wake up in the morning and decide to do some drugs. They are either influenced by the people around them, or at the very least they do their research. My question is, is why people continue to smoke synthetic THC when they know the health risks. Since the video there have been widespread bans on the product, but there are still places to get it. I read an article in the Pioneer Press a week or two ago about a head shop in Duluth openly selling the product because he has customers driving hundreds of miles to pick it up. Customers from the Twin Cities to Iowa or Wisconsin. The article said that everyday the police don't raid his shop he puts an extra $16,000 in his drawer a day! This is not a drug that is close to pot. I've seen the effects of pot and I know plenty of pot users and there are very few people that would go that far to feed their high. This sounds more like a chemical dependency. People love the fact that they can get high and still work their 9-5 with no repercussions. As previously mentioned I know plenty of pot users (who doesn't) and I also know plenty of people who use K2 and they love the consequence free high. I know people from college students to active military who smoke this substance and know that they can get away from it, even smoking it while walking down the side walk. On the other hand though, I work as a security guard downtown Minneapolis and I've had to be the "asshole" for kicking someone out of a club or a building because I've smelled them smoking it. Becker talks about learning to be a pot smoker, but where does it go from there. Chemically addictive or not, there is a need for some people to be high.
